Nick Downer,

Dear Mr Lennor
Thank you for your request of 15 January.  It is our view that the numbers
involved are so low that a Section 40 exemption applies.  That said, the
following aggregated data may help:
1. Total number of gap year applicants, number offered interviews and
number receiving offers - 6 of whom 2 received offers and 4
were declined without interview.
2. Total number of gap year applicants offering A levels as their highest
qualification, number offered interviews and number receiving
offers. Fewer than 5.
3. Total number of domestic gap year applicants, number offered interviews
and number receiving offers.  Fewer than five applicants in total, of whom
some were made offers and some not interviewed.
4. The breakdown of subjects offered by each gap year applicant and grade
achieved for each subject, number offered interviews and number receiving
offers.  For those for whom we have the data, Maths, Further Maths,
Economics, Geography, Business Studies. We do not hold data on any
rejected applicants, to reveal subjects of those receiving offers would
jeopardise anonymity.
5. An indication beside each gap year applicant of TSA score, number
offered interviews and number receiving offers. TSA was not used until the
current admissions round, fewer than 5 applicants presented with TSA.
6. Total number of gap year students with Further Maths to AS level only
that apply, number that receive interviews, and number that receive
offers. Fewer than 5.
