Dear Cheshire Constabulary,

A shocking story has appeared in the Independent concerning former police officer Michael Luckett who had sex with a woman he arrested:

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/cr...

“He later pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office and resigned from his post with Cheshire Police before he could be sacked. On Friday Luckett was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court to 12 months behind bars.”

1. The story does not refer to his being suspended from duty. If he was suspended, please provide the date his suspension started.

2. For each of the past five years please provide information on the number of police officers from your force facing misconduct panels who resigned in circumstances similar officer Luckett i.e. by resigning the possibility of their being sacked was rendered impossible.

Yours faithfully,

J Roberts

Requests, Cheshire Constabulary

1 Atodiad

Dear J Roberts

Thank you for your request. In order for us to proceed with your request
we need clarification of what information you require.

YOUR REQUEST:

Dear Cheshire Constabulary,

A shocking story has appeared in the Independent concerning former police
officer Michael Luckett who had sex with a woman he arrested:

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/cr...

"He later pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office and resigned from
his post with Cheshire Police before he could be sacked. On Friday Luckett
was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court to 12 months behind bars."

1.  The story does not refer to his being suspended from duty.  If he was
suspended, please provide the date his suspension started.

2.  For each of the past five years please provide information on the
number of police officers from your force facing misconduct panels who
resigned in circumstances similar  officer Luckett i.e. by resigning the
possibility of their being sacked was rendered impossible.

CLARIFICATION:

Could I please get some clarification on question 2?

Is the question asking for officers who have resigned for a similar
offence to Luckett, which would otherwise have resulted in termination?

Or for officers who may have resigned, for any offence, that would
otherwise have resulted in being terminated?

Please note – should no clarification be received from you within 2 months
from the date of this email we will assume that you do not wish to
continue with your request and you request will be closed.

Kind regards
