IT Support Services

The request was successful.

Dear Historic Scotland,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I would like to request the following breakdown of the organisation's hardware maintenance and costs:

A list of the models of the physical servers, storage devices, tape libraries, network switches and routers under support contracts; as well as the cost and duration of said contracts, with start and end dates and service level associated with the equipment. Could you also supply the names of the suppliers of aforementioned support services?

I would also request the name of the person/s in your organisation responsible for the maintenance support contracts.

Yours faithfully,

John Wicker

Historic Scotland

Regards

Historic Scotland

Dear Mr Wicker

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT
2002

I note your request dated 25 January 2012 under the Freedom of Information
(Scotland) Act 2002, for information connected to our IT hardware
maintenance and costs.

Our network is currently with the Scottish Government IT team (ISIS).  As
we use ISIS on a shared service basis they would provide the details for
our network as they are the holders of this information. I can however
confirm that the current costs for this support are £575,682 per annum.
The only external contracts are for the Cisco equipment that we have which
costs £8,000 per annum with a company called Netxworld which ends March
2012; and the till support with Dacoll which cost £35,000 per annum and
ends June 2012.

The contact for our IT maintenance support contracts is our IT
Infrastructure Manager.

I trust this information is useful to you but if you require a review of
our decision to be carried out, please write to the Chief Executive,
Historic Scotland, Longmore House, Salisbury Place, Edinburgh, EH9 1SH.
The review will be undertaken by staff not involved in the original
decision making process.

Your request should explain why you wish a review to be carried out, and
should be made within 40 working days of receipt of this letter, and we
will reply within 20 working days of receipt.  If you are not satisfied
with the result of the review, you then have the right to make a formal
complaint to the Scottish Information Commissioner.

Yours sincerely

Keith Downie | MRICS MCIPS | Head of Procurement
