IT Support Services

The request was successful.

Dear Stockton on Tees Council,

Please pass this on to the person who deals with Freedom of Information requests.

I would like to request the following breakdown of the Council's hardware maintenance and costs:

A list of the models of the physical servers, storage devices, tape libraries, network switches and routers under support contracts; as well as the cost and duration of said contracts, with start and end dates and service level associated with the equipment. Could you also supply the names of the suppliers of aforementioned support services?

I would also request the name of the person/s in your organisation responsible for the maintenance support contracts.

Yours faithfully,

John Wicker

Mr Wicker, what company do you work for? Would it be ProbSolve of Bath?

John Wicker left an annotation ()

As I said in response to your e-mail, I'm a student, compiling the data from various public sector institutions for a report. I've told this to several of the institutions when asked. I don't know of "ProbSolve".

John Smith (Really) left an annotation ()

So please explain then, in this public forum, how after being given in a response to one of your 1300+ FOI requests, a contact name that no one else has been given - ever, did a call come in from ProbSolve mysteriously asking to speak with this person in connection with server and network maintenance. There is no other possible way that this could have happened. The only person who has ever been given this contact name is you in a response to your FOI requests.

The responses posted here are public, surely anyone could have seen them?

John Smith (Really) left an annotation ()

You're missing the point Mr Wicker. Please allow me to spell it out.
You were given a contact name in a response to one of your many FOI requests. This name was not an untruth, but not a name that's ever been associated with network and server maintenance. What are the chances then of a company calling and asking to speak to this same person in connection with the exact content of your FOI requests? No one else has been given this name but you. It's a bit of a coincidence wouldn't you say?

I would suggest that this company saw the FoI requests on the site.. it doesn't mean I'm anything to do with them?
