Dear Mr Wicker

Further to your Freedom of Information request regarding University College Falmouth and details of its hardware maintenance and costs, I regret to inform you that the entirety of the work associated with the request in order to fully answer it exceeds the ‘appropriate limit’ as set out in the Act. The Act makes provision for public authorities to refuse requests for information where the cost of dealing with them would exceed the appropriate limit. This has been set at £600 for public authorities listed in Schedule 1, Part 1 of the FOIA (central government), and £450 for all other public authorities. This represents the estimated cost of one person spending 3.5 working days locating, retrieving and extracting the information.

The University College is therefore issuing a refusal notice based on cost.

If you have any queries regarding your FOI request, please send them to the dedicated email address: [email address].
