Dear Ms Kis

Request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000

Further to your request for information, made under the provisions of the
above Act, please see below our response.

Can you please provide details of your current provider(s) (company name,
date contract was awarded and date of expiry/re-tendering)?

The Arabic Interpretation/Translation services for the Resettlement
programme were until recently, being provided in-house by LCC employed
Interpreters. As their fixed term contracts have now ended, the services
are being provided by free-lance Interpreters on a spot-purchase basis,
whilst the new UKRS Interpretation Services Tender (which will include
interpretation/translation for additional languages) is being
commissioned, due to be published late Autumn 2021.

What language services have you provided during the COVID19 pandemic?

The language is Arabic.

The service we provided during the first lockdown in 2020 was that we
contacted the families on weekly basis and checked if they needed any
support. We responded to their needs and requests during the lockdown.

How many interpreting requests have not been filled during the COVID 19
pandemic and what languages were they?

All the interpreting requests were responded to and the interpreters were
allocated to every single request even the short notice ones.

It was only Arabic language.

Kind regards
