Internal transport provision

I am writing to request information.
Please could you let me know the answer to the three questions below relating to the Trust’s internal transport provision for the likes of internal mail, pathology specimens, sterile services department, electro-biomedical engineering, pharmacy, patient records and stores.
1. Who is your current provider?
2. How much do you pay for the services per year?
3. When was the contract/service level agreement last market tested to ensure best value?

In reply to your clarification about pharmacy this could be described as the movement of drugs and medicines within the Trust and between Trust sites .

Thank you for your application for information below, made under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.
In answer to your specific questions, please see the information below
regarding internal transport provision within NHS Western Cheshire.
1. Internal Mail: this is carried out in-house. There is no external
provider.
2. Pathology specimens: our acute Trust, the Countess of Chester Hospital,
carries out this service. There is no external provider.
3. Sterile services: the contract for this is with SynergyHealth. The cost
of the service is £110,000.00 per annum. This was last market tested in
April 2008 when the current contract was awarded.
4. Electro-biomedical engineering: the contract for this is with BCAS
Bio-medical Services Limited. The cost of the service is £50,000 per
annum. This was last market tested in January 2009 when the current
contract was awarded.
5. Pharmacy: NHS Western Cheshire does not transport drugs and medicines
within the Trust or between sites. There is consequently no contract for
this.
6. Patient records and stores: the contract for this is with Deepstore
Records Management, Winsford Salt Mine. The cost of the service is
£11,000 per annum. This was last market tested in in 2007 when the
current contract was awarded.
