3. When was the contract/service level agreement last market tested
to ensure best value?

The Trust received a Freedom of Information Act 2000 request from you
dated 18^th February 2010 requesting information relating to Trusts
internal transport. The Trusts internal transport service is provided in 2
parts:

· Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Worcestershire Acute Trust

· In-house services provided by the Facilities department.

For the Acute SLA, the required information is:

Current provider: Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust

SLA value: £53,175 in 2009/10 (excluding pharmacy transport,
see below)

Market testing: Internal transport is one very small part of the
SLA that we have between ourselves and the Acute
Trust. This is kept under regular review and
elements market tested as appropriate.

In 2009/10, we market tested the pharmacy service,
which includes transport for this element of the
service (e.g. transport of drugs, prescriptions
etc). The new contract started on 1^st October
2009. There isn't  a specific figure for
transport as it is included in the overall
management cost of the pharmacy service.

Person responsible for For the Acute SLA transport service, the direct
transport manager is Jon Spells, who is the Portering
Services Manager based at Worcestershire Acute
