Internal audit provision and costs

The request was successful.

Dear Children’s Commissioner for England,

This is a request for information under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act.

Please can you let me have details of internal audit provision for the financial years 2013/14, 2014.5 and planned arrangements for 2015/6. Specifically, can you provide information on:

- which organisation has provided internal audit support for each of the years above?
- what process was undertaken to appoint the provider or providers?
- How many person-days of internal audit support were provided in each of the above years?
- What was the total actual or planned cost for each of the years above?

Yours faithfully,

Lorraine Aitken

Children's Commissioner for England

Thank you for your email. This is an automatic acknowledgement to let you know we have received it.

We receive a large number of letters and emails including invitations, requests for information, advice and assistance and marketing material. We read all of them and reply if it is appropriate for us to do so.

If your email is a request for advice or assistance, we will reply if we can help you. However, the law only allows us to address certain issues which are set out in the Children and Families Act 2014. The Act says we can provide advice and assistance only to children and young people who live away from home or who receive social care services, or adults representing them but it prevents us from taking on other individual cases. If you have told us you meet one of these criteria, we will forward your email to a member of our care and protection team and they will get in touch with you directly. The team can be reached by free phone on 0800 528 0731. If you do not fall within one of these groups we may reply to you, depending on our capacity to do so, but we are a fairly small organisation, so cannot guarantee a response.

We prioritise responses according to their urgency. If you have an urgent concern about a child protection issue, you should contact your local police or social services. Adults can also call the NSPCC child protection helpline on 0808 800 5000. Children can call Childline on 0800 1111.

Yours faithfully,
