Dear FOI team,

I am looking for information on the amount of injuries sustained by airport ground handling staff whilst at work, and I would like to request the following information.

Q1. In 2019, how many times were you called out to attend to a patient at an airport, where the patient was a "ground handler", "baggage handler", "ground staff", "ground attendant" or "baggage attendant"?
Q1 i. Please provide a monthly breakdown of the total - for example, how many of these happened in January? How many in February? etc.
Q1 ii. Please provide incident notes with details of injuries where possible.

Q2. In 2022 so far (up to and including Sunday 10th July 2022), how many times were you called out to attend to a patient at an airport, where the patient was a "ground handler", "baggage handler", "ground staff", "ground attendant" or "baggage attendant"?

Dear Charlotte

The Trust is currently processing your request which has been allocated the following reference: 01/FOI/22/000140, please could you quote this reference in any future correspondence with the Trust.

Unfortunately the Trust does not hold that level of detail for the patient's job role. We could look to provide the data for all calls where the location is recorded as an airport, if this would be of use?

Once we have received your clarification we will continue to process your request. Please note that if we do not receive a response from you within 20 days the Trust will determine that you no longer require this information and will close your request.

Kind regards

FoI Officer

Good morning all,

Yes please provide data for callouts to airports for the dates requested, in an excel spreadsheet format.

If there are any details you can provide about the most serious incidents attended that would be helpful.

Many thanks,

Charlotte Lynch
