Dear Greater Manchester Police,

Thank you for your recent response, I have attached some comments on the points you made in your response, please see below.

"Furthermore disclosure may prejudice GMP in respect of future tendering processes as potential companies would be aware of how much money GMP has spent on this particular service. This could give an unfair advantage to those companies applying for such future contracts with GMP as we may not be able to negotiate a price less than previously paid."
- As I stated I do not wish to see any details of costs.

"Thus there is a potential harm to hinder GMP’s economical use of public funds for future purchases, which is even more vital in the current economic climate and reductions in public monies afforded to public authorities. "
- As i stated I do not wish to see any detail of costs.

"Information being requested under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 is information being made publicly available for all to see. Therefore to disclose the winning and losing tenders into the public domain would prejudice the commercial interests of those suppliers and those companies may be disadvantaged in respect of future contracts with other organisations. "
- Could copies of these be provided, where details which "prejudice the commercial interests of those suppliers" is removed/redacted.

This is with the intention of providing a better understanding of GMP’s decision making process in awarding the contract for this service.

Please let me know if this possible? And thank you for investigating my request up to this point

Yours faithfully,

James Kewin

Dear James

Further to your last email where you highlighted :

"Information being requested under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 is information being made publicly available for all to see. Therefore to disclose the winning and losing tenders into the public domain would prejudice the commercial interests of those suppliers and those companies may be disadvantaged in respect of future contracts with other organisations. "

Could copies of these be provided, where details which "prejudice the commercial interests of those suppliers" is removed/redacted.

The decision has been taken that the documents in full are commercial sensitive and therefore the exemption under S43 of the Act has been engaged. If you are unhappy with our response then you need to follow the complaints procedure within the response letter and ask for an internal review.

Kind regards
