Dear Insolvency Service,

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). Please provide any information that you hold answering to any of the following descriptions:

3. Any other communication you have received from Stonewall in 2019 or 2020 unless privileged or otherwise exempt from disclosure (but if you claim privilege or exemption in relation to any material, please say in broad terms what the material is and the basis on which you claim to be entitled to withhold it).

4. Full details of any equality impact assessment you carried out connected with any of these applications (including any equality impact assessment carried out prior to an earlier application of the same kind, if no further assessment was done).

5. Details of the total amount of money you paid to Stonewall (i) in 2019; (ii) in 2020, whether or not as payment for goods or services.

Good afternoon,

The FOI team acknowledge your Freedom of Information request and it has been assigned the reference number FOI20/21-189.

We will review your request and provide a response by 8th March 2021, in line with the 20 working days statutory target. If we require any clarification in any aspects of your request, we will endeavour to contact you.

I can confirm that there is no cost involved in requesting this information

FOI, Insolvency Service

Good morning,

We are currently processing your request for information and would like to advise that question 3 is likely to make your request run over the costs limit, as it captures and email received by anyone in the Insolvency Service from Stonewall in a two year period. As such, and because we don't have a way of searching all emails centrally, all employees would have to search their email accounts, as well as team mailboxes, which probably totals in the thousands.

We can however suggest taking out question 3 and answering the remaining questions as the costs limit would mean refusal of the entire request.

Please let us know if you are happy with this. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Information Rights Team

Dear Information Rights team,

Thank you for your response.

To clarify question 3 of my request, I do not require to see multiple copies of the same communication if it has landed in many different inboxes: it will be acceptable, for example, to examine a single inbox that is on the relevant distribution list (eg the person or team within the Insolvency Service who is primarily responsible for the relationship with Stonewall), and provide copies of all the emails that have been received within that inbox.

If that is not feasible within the costs limit, than I will accept your suggestion of excluding question 3 for the reasons you state.

Yours sincerely,

C Griffiths

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your email. The issue is that we don't know which members of staff have received emails from Stonewall, and there isn't any specific one person or team that might contact Stonewall, therefore we're going to do as you suggest and remove it.

We will issue a response within the statutory deadline.

Yours sincerely,

Information Rights Team
