Information about use of algorithmic decision-making

Jack Maxwell made this Rhyddid Gwybodaeth request to Gwasanaeth Carchardai a Phrawf Ei Mawrhydi

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Dear Her Majesty's Prison & Probation Service,

I am making this application on behalf of the Public Law Project.

Please disclose any strategy documents, evaluations, reports or Data Protection Impact Assessments in relation to the use of algorithmic decision-making by HMPPS.

By 'algorithmic decision-making', I mean to include decisions in which a computer automatically performs part or all of the decision-making process without a human's direct involvement, such as:
1. Monitoring a person's movements or behaviour.
2. Gathering additional information about a person (e.g. from social media).
3. Assessing the risk posed by a person.

Yours faithfully,

Jack Maxwell
