Dear Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council,

I recently made a FOI request which supplied me with some excellent information which I have now had time to fully digest and has given cause for me to ask another question.

The reply mentioned a Council budget named 'Planned Preventative Maintenance’ and as the Council will appreciate, ordinary members of the public such as myself will have little or in my case, no knowledge about how Council budgets are structured or what they are allocated for. So, I would like to find out a little more about the PPM budget, namely:

Is the PPM budget funded in any way by the Wirral Council Parking Account which makes a surplus from parking charges in Wirral Council run car parks (not to be confused with the account which pursues the recovery of non-payment of parking fines)?

Is the PPM budget a subsidiary budget of the Highways Maintenance budget?

Is the PPM budget funded in any part by Council Tax and/or government grants?

Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

Yours faithfully,

N Lauro

A: No

budget?

A: No. The PPM budget referred to is the Parks & Countryside Department
planned preventative maintenance budget.

Q. Is the PPM budget funded in any part by Council Tax and/or government
grants?

A: Yes, the Parks & Countryside Planned Preventative Maintenance Budget is
an integral part of the Parks & Countryside annual budget, which is
allocated as part of the Council's annual budget setting process.

We trust this clarifiers matters and answers your enquiry in full.
