Dear Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment,

with the news item about 676 pupils across the province have asked for their AS Level English Literature papers to be re-assessed after an "administrative error", can I ask what procedures CCEA have set in place to ensure this doesn't happen again?

Chris, with reference to your email received by us on Thursday 14 June requesting information under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. As per section 10 of the Act, you can expect a response no later than 20 working days from the date of receipt of your request. We will reply to your request by 16/7/2018, at the very latest, reference number F03062018.

There may be a fee payable for this information. This will be considered and you will be informed if a fee is payable. In this event the fee must be paid before the information is processed and released. The 20 day time limit for responses is suspended until receipt of the payment. If there is a fee payable we will write to you again to let you know the process in this event.

For your information, the Act defines a number of exemptions which may prevent the release of the information you have requested. We will assess whether any of the exemption categories apply to your request (as per PART 11 of the Act) and if they do, or if there is a delay due to the application of an exemption we will contact you and keep you informed.
