Wang S. Rong made this Rhyddid Gwybodaeth request to Imperial College London

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Roedd y cais yn rhannol lwyddiannus.

Dear Imperial College London,

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I kindly request some raw data from you regarding university applications for the latest available admissions cycle and the one preceding that.

The data I would like to have is as follows:

1. The total number of applications, offers and acceptances made to students from Singapore

2. The number of applications, offers and acceptances made to students from Singapore in all the individual courses. If this is too troublesome to compile, I would like to have the data only for the following 7 courses: C100, C700, J700, B900, A100, F100, BH81

3. I would like to know if there is any scoring or grading system used to shortlist candidates and assess interview performance in general as well as specifically for the 7 courses as above (C100, C700, J700, B900, A100, F100, BH81). If there is such a system, I would like to request for details on the scoring system. In addition, if there is a form provided to interviewers to record interview performance and determine the offers made, I would like to request for this form as well.

Thank very much for taking time to gather the information and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Yours faithfully,
Mdm Wang S. Rong

IMPFOI, Imperial College London

Dear Ms Wong

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. Please find the
information requested below and attached.

1 & 2) The number of applications, offers and acceptances made by/to
students from Singapore in all the individual courses

Please find the three attached spreadsheets in answer to questions one
and two, providing details of applications, offers made and acceptances
for individual courses for the academic years 2011/2012; 2012/2013 and
2013/2014 made by students with their domicile listed as Singapore.

Please note the following:

-        The numbers for Academic Year 2013/2014 are subject to change as
we are only part way through the process.

-        The program type is Undergraduate.

-        Offer numbers show any applicant who was made an offer, even if
they were later rejected after failing to meet conditions, if they
withdrew or declined our offer.

-        Accepted numbers show all applicants who met the conditions of
their offer but some may have dropped out later, prior to or after
starting the course.

In addition where there were less than five (not including zero)
applicants it is shown as <5 this is to prevent the risk of any individual
student being identified. In presenting the information in this way the
College is engaging the exemption Section 40(3)(a)(i) of the Freedom of
Information Act as to release the information would breach the first Date
Protection principle (the fair and lawful processing of personal data) as
set out in Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act 1998.

3) Scoring or grading systems used to shortlist candidates and assess
interview performance

There is no general scoring or grading system used to shortlist candidates
