With regards to the values of the storage support and backup support
contracts, we believe that this information is exempt from being released
under section 43 (prejudice to commercial interests) of the Freedom of
Information Act.

This exemption is subject to the public interest test. Disclosure would,
in our view, be likely to prejudice the Council's commercial interests
through the potential to undermine our tendering process. If we are
prepared to disclose this information to you then we are acknowledging
that anyone is entitled to this information, including companies who may
wish to compete for these contracts upon their renewal. It is in the
public's interest, in our opinion, that the Council continues to get the
best possible value for money when determining its contracts with external
clients and thereby keeping Council Tax as low as possible. Release of
this commercial information may jeopardise that situation.

If you are not completely satisfied with our response, please contact us
again, or write to the complaints officer at: Dorset County Council,
County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset DT1 1XJ. Or you can follow
the complaints procedure on our website that can be found [1]here. If your
appeal is not resolved to your satisfaction, you have the right to apply
to the Information Commissioner for a decision.

Yours sincerely,
