Dear Together Housing,

I would like to know who approved the suitability of the drainage system during the planning application RB2018/0374, known as Westfield Mews, Parkgate, Rotherham.

As a result of heavy rainfall on Thursday 7 November, my house was flooded. I have lived in the house for over 20 years (my neighbour since 1972) and flood water has never entered my/our property. (not even in 2007)

The development detailed above (RB2018/0374) saw the approval of 28 new houses, which were built on a piece of land, previously used for horses. This land did occasionally flood as water ran off the hills behind, but its low position protected the road and homes opposite.

During the early development of the site, I approach the 'Site Manager' and expressed a concern about potential flooding and he reassured me that adequate plans had been approved to prevent this.

This is the first time we have experienced heavy rainfall since the development was completed and we have potentially lost everything on the lower ground floor, and I would like to know who is responsible for this damage.

Yours faithfully,

Ian Thompson
