Human Rights & Sanctuary City

We're waiting for Gwen Swinburn to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear City of York Council,

The Lib Dems have been at the forefront of various designations that sound good. The reality of these appear rather different- particularly in the work on disabled ( BB provision) , older people ( no seating or provision in the city centre) , younger people ( play areas in the inner city eg) , refugees and asylum seekers.

A human rights board was set up, but appears not to be functional.

I have only found this https://democracy.york.gov.uk/mgOutsideB...

Accordingly please provide recorded information for the following for both the Human Rights City and Sanctuary City destinations

1. The committee and council papers that led to and approved these two designations. Who made these

2. For the Human Rights Board provide the schedule of meetings, full agendas and minutes and action plan for this Board.

3. Please provide the schedule of delegations and powers delegated to this Board, if any.

4. Please provide recorded information on the obligations and progress of accommodating Syrian and Afghan refugees to date. Has CYC met its obligations yet, or exceeded, by how much.

Yours faithfully,

Gwen Swinburn
