HR Policies pertaining to GDPR and staff sickness / absence

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Specsavers should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Specsavers,

I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please can you send me:

- Managers guidance on how to deal with sickness and absence, including recording and sharing of employee sickness information and who the information can be shared within the wider team if anyone at all.

1 - Employee guidance on dealing with sickness and absence within their own team (immediate colleagues), and within surrounding teams from the same store or other stores.

2 - Employee guidance on GDPR regulations in relation to HR matters.

3 - Employee and/or managers guidance on dismissals procedure(s).

4 - Employee and/or managers guidance on circumstances in which they are permitted to approach an employee’s previous employers.

5 - Employee guidance on circumstances (if any) in which an employee who is not the line manager or in any way responsible for the individual concerned, is permitted to approach a fellow employee’s previous employers.

If any of this information is different for specific branches, please can I have the specific guidance documents for the following Specsavers stores: Leeds City Centre, Leeds Crown Point, Leeds White Rose, Leeds Morley.

I would like the above information to be provided to me as paper or electronic copies, whichever would be easiest for you to send.

If this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you could contact me as soon as possible, as I understand that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist requesters. If any of this information is already in the public domain, please can you direct me to it, with page references and URLs if necessary?

If the release of any of this information is prohibited on the grounds of breach of confidence, I ask that you supply me with copies of the confidentiality agreement and remind you that information should not be treated as confidential if such an agreement has not been signed.
I understand that you are required to respond to my request within the 20 working days after you receive this letter. I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Sofia

Dear Specsavers,

I wrote to you on 26 June 2018 with a freedom of information request about HR policies pertaining to GDPR and staff sickness / absence.

I was careful not to request any personally identifiable data.

I do not understand why this request has not received any response as yet. Please can I remind you that by law, I should have received a response by 25 July 2018. You should have responded promptly and I am surprised that you have not. Please can you explain the reason for the delay and also respond to my initial request ASAP.

Yours faithfully,

Sofia Qadir
