The request was partially successful.

Dear Bristol City Council,

The gentrification project on which the council responded in the following FOI unique reference number CRN00205367 -- https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/5..., was meant to have reported to political cabinet on February/March 2019.

Would you please let me know the following, please:

1. How much did the project cost?
2. How much was paid, to who and which companies? Please provide invoices;
3. Please provide a copy of the report.

Our reply to your request is:

 1. How much did the project cost?

There were staff costs only, i.e. ‘business as usual’ in line with
existing job roles and responsibilities.

Officer time comes at a cost, but this is not information that BCC
holds in that: a) officers outside of legal services do not record
the amount of time that they have spent on particular matters; and b)
it would only be possible to provide an estimated staff cost even if
the total hours were held, as the actual cost would include the
various overheads associated with staff working in an office, on top
of the proportion of their salaries/pension contributions relating to
that time.

Some additional capacity was provided by a Stepping Up Programme
trainee as part of their stretch assignment, which was at no cost to
Bristol City Council.

 1. How much was paid, to who and which companies? Please provide
invoices;

Nothing paid outside Bristol City Council – please see above
response.

 1. Please provide a copy of the report.

The report is not yet available.

Dear "Customer Relations Team" <[email address]>,

Thank you for your response. You say that staff costs can't be provided and yet Bristol City Council has provided them in cases such as the Channel 4 creative hub bid: FOI CRN00200637 - https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...
Even the mayor's time was provided even though he is not a BCC employee:

"2. Cost of staff salaries for those involved in promoting Bristol to Channel 4. This should include the number and length of meetings held, the number of staff working on proposals, and their grades.

Please see attached spread sheet for details of meetings held (time and date) and the pay grades of officers who were present. Please note that most officers at the Council are not required to record
their time and as such it is not possible to provide figures for total hours spent by all officers across the Council in working on the proposals."

I am happy for you to provide the information on staff costs as you did for the Channel 4 bid, even if it contains elements of estimated cost.

Yours sincerely,

Joanna Booth
