How many familial DNA searches are carried out each year?

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear National Policing Improvement Agency,

Could you please tell me how many familial DNA searches are carried out each year? [In absolute terms or as a percentage of all searches]

Are familial searches standard proceedure if an original search turns up no matches?

What regulations govern the use of familial searches?

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Chambers
