Dear Home Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Home Office's handling of my FOI request 'How many cases of harassment by those holding vigils near abortion clinics have been reported?'.

In refusing to disclose the information the Home Office says it has, it is not acting in the public interest but making obscure rather than transparent relevant information concerning it's public consultation upon this issue. Without disclosure, it is impossible for the public to respond in an informed and adequate way. The Home Office presumption is that there is an important public order issue to be addressed however; it has produced no evidence whatsoever to support that presumption. The Home Office response to my request for information is ill judged and contradicts government transparency policy as well as undermining the validity of public responses to its consultation.

To clarify; I have not requested specific details of allegations but simply the number of allegations. This information is being unreasonably withheld.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/h...

Yours faithfully,

Roland Gilmore
