Dear Chichester District Council,

I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

1. With regard to the authority's housing waiting list, how many households were removed from the list in the last full year where figures are available?

2. Can you list the reasons given for the removal from the list?

3. How many households were removed from the list because of death?

4. How many households have been on the list for a) between five years and ten years b) ten years or more

5. With regards to household that has been on the list the longest, how long have they been on the list?

6. Can you provide the same figures provided for questions 1. 2. and 3 for each of the last ten years or as far back as the cost limit will allow?

Thank you for your email received February 2021, requesting information
regarding the above

 

Your request has been dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 apologies for the delay in response. Please see below
our response to your questions.

 

1. With regard to the authority's housing waiting list, how many
households were removed from the list in the last full year where figures
are available?

We are currently unable to provide information prior to October 2020 due
to a change of IT provider.

2. Can you list the reasons given for the removal from the list?

We do not record reasons for removal, other than where applicants are
housed. In most cases we remove applications when they do not return a
renewal form, so there could be a number of reasons for this.

3. How many households were removed from the list because of death?

See 2. above

4. How many households have been on the list for a) between five years and
ten years b) ten years or more

We have 253 applicants who have been on the list fr 5 years + and a
further 39 who have been on for 10 years +

5. With regards to household that has been on the list the longest, how
long have they been on the list?

We have one applicant who joined the register in 1983.

6. Can you provide the same figures provided for questions 1. 2. and 3 for
each of the last ten years or as far back as the cost limit will allow?

No, for reasons referred to above.
