Housing Benefit Claims for Unsupported Temporary Accomodation

Dear Reading Borough Council,

My name is Rachel Yates, Unit Project Officer of Unsupported Temporary Accommodation Unit. I work conducting research for the Justlife Foundation into residents of unsupported temporary accommodation, specifically those claiming housing benefit from private B&Bs or accommodation with Board and Lodging.

This request, through the Freedom of Information Act of 2000, is looking to collect the number of individuals living in unsupported temporary accommodation from 2010-2016. In order to assess this, I am requesting the following information:

1. Private tenants claiming housing benefit from a Bed and Breakfast and/or all other accommodation with board and lodgings
a. This information broken down by financial year (1st April – 31st March), i.e. the above number in 2010/2011; 2011/2012; 2012/2013; 2013/2014; 2014/2015; 2015/2016
AND

2. Private tenants claiming housing benefit from a Bed and Breakfast and/or all other accommodation with board and lodgings (as described above) on 1st January in each of the above years.

1.  We don’t have any private tenants in B&B accommodation, nor do we have
any private tenants in temporary accommodation which provides board &
lodging accommodation which is unsupported.   This is true of all years
from 2010 onwards

 

AND

 

2.       Private tenants claiming housing benefit from a Bed and Breakfast
and/or all other accommodation with board and lodgings (as described
above) on 1st January in each of the above years.

 

2.  As above.
