Dear SSD Customer Care - Social Services,
I am already aware of the EC council meeting of the 25,February 2016 it says nothing about research as to available social housing in Halton. Are you making this up?

Where is the research stated in your web site and who decided to ignore the "statutory 2 year residency rule?

I can supply a screen shot if you wish?

Yours sincerely,

G Taylor

Dear SSD Customer Care - Social Services,

No need for a "screen shot" it's still on your web site

Quote from site

Where will you house these resettled Syrian refugees’?

We’ll be looking to accommodate these resettled Syrian refugees within both the private and social rented sectors, across Widnes and Runcorn. Using current data, we know that there is housing available across Halton to house both the Syrian refugees and still meet the needs of our existing communities.

"Using current data, we know there is housing available across Halton..."

Will you publish the data? Together with
the date of that data?

Regards GT

Yours sincerely,

G Taylor

Dear SSD Customer Care - Social Services,

I have spent almost 12 months trying to obtain the most basic information on this project of Halton Council. It is becoming self evident that the process is being deliberately slowed down to put time between the decision and any possible complaint

You people now claim not to know your own web site or the information the council would have had to give to government regarding"spare capacity" in housing, in order to take part in the scheme.

As the initial question is now well overdue I am asking for an internal review.

Yours sincerely,

G Taylor

Dear SSD Customer Care - Social Services,

I don't need "directing" I have the web site. I want the information it alludes to. IE the data and an answer to my questions, repeated below.

Go to Halton Borough Council (web site).

Type "Syrian Refugee" in the HBC search engine.

Click on "Syrian Resetlement Program".

There are a load of "drop boxes".
Click on "Where will you house these resettled Syrian refugees". It states "Using current data..."

Will you publish that data please?

Also in those "drop boxes" is a heading
"Will these people get preferential treatment for housing". Answer "NO..."

Explain why the statutory 2 year residence rule was ignored?

And it would be futile to deleat the information. Which I expect

Regards G. T

Yours sincerely,

Mike Foy, Halton Borough Council

Dear Mr Taylor

I am writing in response to your request for an internal review of the way
in which the Council has dealt with your request for recorded information
concerning the availability of housing stock at the time at which the
Council committed to taking part in the Syrian Refugee Programme.

I would confirm that as explained in its initial response the Council does
not hold recorded information regarding the availability of housing within
Halton at the time at which the decision to take part in the Syrian
Refugee Programme was made.

Although no formal recorded research was undertaken discussions did take
place with a number of housing providers across the borough at that time
regarding stock availability and it is for this reason that the use of the
term “using current data” appeared within the FAQ’s placed on the Council
website.

In hindsight the Council would acknowledge that the existing form of words
used on the website may inadvertently lead the reader to assume that
statistical information had been recorded and / or formal research
undertaken regarding housing availability and as a consequence of this the
wording used on the Council’s website will now be amended.

Whilst the Council notes your comment concerning preferential treatment it
is the case that by necessity the residency requirement could not be
applied to any initiative that involved the resettlement of refugees
arriving in the United Kingdom as part of the governments national
resettlement programme.

I also wish to confirm that Halton Council's participation in the
programme was determined as part of a wider Liverpool City Regional
initiative. In this instance the Council was not required to provide
specific information to central government regarding housing capacity that
existed at the time and no recorded information is held by the Council in
this regard.

I trust that clarifies the position regarding your enquiry and should you
remain dissatisfied with the outcome of this review you may wish to seek
further advice from the Information Commissioners Office. Their contact
details are available online at [1]www.ico.org.uk or by post at

Dear Mike Foy,
I realise that you are trying to drag this out as long as possible but rest assured I will get the information I want.

Up until May last year 5 social houses were provided by Liverpool Housing Trust/Onward. Can you tell me what their response was to availability of empty housing stock within the New Town ( or "spare capacity" which as you well know was the conditions needed to participate in this scheme).

Yours sincerely,

G Taylor
