Horse, horsebox, trailer and caravan road safety statistics

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Sussex Police should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Sussex Police,

Please could you provide me with details of the following incidents that occurred in jurisdictions policed by your force on an annual basis, broken down by year from 2013 to 2018:
1. Total number of road traffic accidents involving a horsebox in the jurisdiction you police each calendar year. If possible please also provide the reason for the accident i.e. driver error/ horsebox failure/ third party fault.
2. Total number of road traffic accidents involving a horse trailer in the jurisdiction you police each calendar year. If possible please also provide the reason for the accident i.e. driver error/ horse trailer failure/ third party fault.
3. Total number of road traffic accidents involving a caravan in the jurisdiction you police each calendar year. If possible please also provide the reason for the accident i.e. driver error/ caravan failure/ third party fault.
4. Total number of road traffic accidents involving a horse and rider in the jurisdiction you police each calendar year. If possible please also provide the reason for the accident i.e. car passed to closely to horse/ passing too quickly
5. Total number of horses that have died as a result of a road traffic accident in the jurisdiction you police each calendar year.
6. Total number of horse riders that have died has a result of a road traffic accident (that occurred whilst they were riding) in the jurisdiction you police each calendar year.
