This is an FOI request. Please can you supply the following information:

1. How many home educated children in your Authority area are currently known to be home educated?

2. Please state how many of these home educated children are known to the Authority because:

A. The parents informed the Authority.

B. Accident and Emergency informed the Authority following a visit to the hospital by a home educated child.

C. A member of the health services informed the Authority.

D. A School informed the Authority when the child was de-registered.

E. A member of the public informed the Authority.

F. A third party organisation such as a charity or volunteer group informed the Authority.

3. For all these home educated children, how many letters were sent requesting details of the child's education provision?

4. For all these home educated children, where the information was provided, how many then received a written notice under Section 437 (1) of the Education Act 1996 ?

5. For all these home educated children, where the information was not provided, how many then received a written notice under Section 437 (1) of the Education Act 1996 ?

6. How many of these home educated children contacted under under Section 437 (1) were served with of a school attendance order under Section 437 (3) of the Education Act 1996?

2.    Please state how many of these home educated children are known to
the Authority because:

the Education Act 1996 ?

the Education Act 1996 ?

This information is not centrally held, to provide you with the requested
information would require us to manually check all files for the past year
to identify whether they received a written notice under Section 437 (1)
of the Education Act 1996. Therefore we estimate that to extrapolate and
collate the information that you require would involve more than 18 hours
work, which at the £25 hourly rate set by the Ministry of Justice, would
exceed the £450 cost limit. Therefore, under section 12 of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000, we are not obliged to provide you with this
information.

 

6.    How many of these home educated children contacted under Section 437
(1) were served with of a school attendance order under Section 437 (3) of
the Education Act 1996?
