Dear Slough Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Slough Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Home cleaning services providers for Adult social care'.

The reply from SBC states to read below for the response but there is nothing there, not sure if this is just an error or the message hasn't yet been included in your response?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/h...

Dear Mark

This is the second such message I have received  I think there may be a
problem with the automatic upload onto their website.

I have cut and pasted the response below.

Please can you answer the following questions regarding Adult Social care
in the Slough area?

•             The current number of weekly hours commissioned to a
company/companies or providers  for adult social care in the last
financial year (cleaning in individual's homes of those under SBC social
care and also cleaning in care homes)

                8.5 hours per week

•             The annual cost from the last financial year for providing
home cleaning services to individual homes and care homes under the care
of adult social services in slough

Estimate cost of £7500

•             The average number of adults within adult social care
requiring help at home with cleaning  (individual in home help)

7 adults

•             The type of agreements held with private home cleaning
service providers commissioned to deliver Adult Social Care services such
as frameworks, Spot Contracts, Block Contracts etc and their start/end
dates

We have supplier agreements with domiciliary care companies started in May
2017 for 3 years.

•             The range of charge rates per hour charged to the local
authority for Adult social care services  for home cleaning in individual
homes and care homes

This is part of the domiciliary care company hourly rates which is between
£16 - £18

•             The names of your current home cleaning service providers
commissioned in your authority delivering adult social care

We do not have current home cleaning service providers, the service users
will have to purchase this privately.

•             The contact name, email address and contact number for the
person (s) responsible for commissioning home cleaning services to
individual homes and care homes provided by adult social care.

We do not have current home cleaning service providers, the service users
will have to purchase this privately. For the figures quoted above this
forms part of their care package.

•             If your main home cleaning and care home cleaning services
provider is within that of your care staff agencies (Domiciliary care
agencies) would you consider or allow an outside separate cleaning
services company to provide cleaning services?

The cleaning of people's home is assessed as a part of their need and
incorporated within their personal care, we do not separately commission
cleaning services, for the volume stated above it would not be cost
effective.
