HMO license Policies

Ann Brown made this Rhyddid Gwybodaeth request to Lambeth Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Gwrthodwyd y cais gan Lambeth Borough Council.

Dear Lambeth Borough Council,

In light of Bristol council and DIGS (Bristol) Ltd Ruling over whether a maisonette at 12 John Street, Bristol High Court judge said that the lobby and landing associated with the private staircase do not count as storeys, meaning the HMO did not require a license.

‘A recent High Court case involving Bristol council deemed that a particular three storey property in Bristol was not a licensable HMO.

How many HMO properties in Lambeth will be effected by this, and maybe due a refund.

Yours faithfully,

Ann Brown
