Historical structural assessments on Nursery Farm Estate

Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council did not have the information requested.

Danielle Gregory

Dear Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council,

In the 1970's there were two 9-storey Taylor Woodrow Anglian tower blocks built on the Nursery Farm Estate on Split Crow Road in Gateshead, each comprising 68 dwellings.

These have since been demolished. Please disclose:

1) The findings of any previously carried out structural assessments undertaken on those two tower blocks
2) The decisions taken for demolishing those two tower blocks, in terms of any defects or issues of disrepair that factored into that decision.

Please note, this FOI ONLY applies to the two 9-storey Taylor Woodrow Anglian tower blocks, which were built as a later addition to the Nursery Farm estate. No information is required on Nursery tower, Kenmir Tower, Greencroft tower or Dene tower.

Yours faithfully,

Danielle Gregory
