Dear Mr Hutchinson,

Thank you for your recent request for information. Please see our response
below.

Attached is a report that was shared with the Hilbre Island Committee.

There is still a live Marine Management Organisation investigation taking
place. Therefore, I can advise that until the formal investigation has
been concluded we will not be releasing any further information.

I can confirm that we have implemented the signage recommended in the
report.

We reported to Members at the appropriate Scrutiny Committee last year
that in December last year the council was interviewed by the Marine
Management Organization regarding the fire and we await their
consideration of the matter following that interview in respect of what
action they might take. We have also commissioned a survey from a
specialist company regarding the area of the cliff face in question and we
have implemented the signage safety as mentioned above and also safety
marker fence on the surface of the island.

There is the report summary available from Environment Overview and
Scrutiny Committee Tuesday, 24th September 2019:

Dear InfoMgr, FinDMT,

Thank you!

By the time that the report is received, rising sea levels will have taken away the island, or most of it at least.

Yours sincerely,

John H Hutchinson
