1. How many communal and district heat networks do the council manage?
2. Have you notified all applicable communal or district heating networks as per the requirements of the Heat Network Metering and Billing Regulations 2014 - if so how many?
3. Are you able to publish your notification?
4. Do you have plans to replace or upgrade any of these networks in the next 18 months?
5. Do you have a heat network replacement schedule in place?

Thank you for your request for information about District heating.

Your request for information has been considered and I hope the following
will answer your query:
1. How many communal and district heat networks do the council manage?
Answer - 21 District Heating Schemes.
2. Have you notified all applicable communal or district heating networks
as per the requirements of the Heat Network Metering and Billing
Regulations 2014 - if so how many?
Answer - Yes, 21 District Heating Schemes.
3. Are you able to publish your notification?
Answer - Our submission has been delivered to Central Government
Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. They have the rights
to publish these results on a UK national basis.
4. Do you have plans to replace or upgrade any of these networks in the
next 18 months?
Answer - Not in the next 18 months but soon after. We will start a
centralised boiler house upgrade & refurbishment programme to budgetary
allowances from financial year 2019/20 for 5-6 consecutive years.
5. Do you have a heat network replacement schedule in place?
Answer - As it is proposed in Q4, a planned works schedule is currently
being considered and is a ‘works in progress’ for the 2019/20
commencement.
