Thank you for your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act
2000.

 

The information you have requested is as follows:

 

1.    How many staff do you currently employ to undertake RTT validation
tasks? – Medway NHS Foundation Trust have a central Data Assurance team
that look at a variety of Data Quality reports that will have an impact on
RTT, the team comprises of 5 WTE staff.  However every pathway
co-ordinator has a responsibility to manage their consultants individual
PTL and RTT patients and both the Trust’s Planned and Unplanned care
Divisions have validation team leaders who co-ordinate validation within
the operational teams.

2.    How many more permanent or temporary staff are expected to be needed
over the next 12 months? – None at present

3.    How many open RTT pathways do you have currently? As at 29/12/2019,
there were 22,940 open pathways.

 

4.    How many staff do you currently employ to undertake clinical coding
validation tasks? – None. The Head of Coding is an Approved Auditor who
carries out audit but there is no dedicated position currently.

5.    How many more permanent or temporary staff are expected to be needed
over the next 12 months? – The Trust can confirm that if this question
relates to the above question about staff undertaking coding validation
tasks, there are no plans for 2020/21 but 2 positions have been requested
for 2021/22.

 

6.    Do you operate and utilise a live bed state system? Yes

7.    Has your organisation implemented any centralised or 24 hour bed
management process, or have an automatic electronic utilisation data
capture solution. No

8.    If so, which processes or solutions are in use? Extramed

 

9.    What is the name, job title, and department contact email address of
the primary decision maker for change control of the bed state process?
