How many staff do you currently employ to undertake RTT validation tasks?
A) 5 staff.
How many more permanent or temporary staff are expected to be needed over the next 12 months?
A) Not currently expected to increase.
How many open RTT pathways do you have currently?
A) As of the end of November 2019, there are 32776 open RTT pathways.

How many staff do you currently employ to undertake clinical coding validation tasks?
A) No members of staff employed specifically to undertake Clinical Coding Validation. 1 WTE Clinical Coding Audit Lead employed but they have other responsibilities (As well as audit). Validation is also carried out as part of the other job roles within the department.

How many more permanent or temporary staff are expected to be needed over the next 12 months?
A) No plans to recruit staff specifically for clinical coding validation.

Do you operate and utilise a live bed state system?
A) Yes.

Has your organisation implemented any centralised or 24 hour bed management process, or have an automatic electronic utilisation data capture solution.
If so, which processes or solutions are in use?
A) We have 24/7 patient flow facilitators and a live situation report (Microsoft PowerBI) directly from our bed management software extramed 3.

What is the name, job title, and department contact email address of the primary decision maker for change control of the bed state process?
A) The primary decision maker is the Head of Patient Flow & Site Operations. To contact them, please call the Trust switchboard on 01254 263555 and ask to be directed through to them.

How many Urgent Care/Emergency Department staff have access to the spine lookup and validation service to verify demographics at the point of patient registration?
A) 39 members of staff across Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, Burnley General Teaching Hospital and Accrington Victoria Community Hospital have access to the Spine.
