Gadawodd Angela Snodgrove anodiad ()

A respected Egyptian political journalist advised me that, when al-Megrahi was first detained and being held in prison in Cairo, he interviewed him.
He had an exclusive interview and al-Megrahi told him that they had been hired by Iran and not Libya. His paper refused to print the story because they were afraid of political reprisals.

Some years later, when I was in Edinburgh, I met al-Megrahi's prison warder who told me that al-Megarhi had been set up.

P.S. I should have added that the reason Iran did it was so that sanctions would be placed on Libya.
