Dear Sheffield City Council,

6.38 of table 6 performance requirements for the Grounds Maintenance Service requires that 17,500 Highway Trees are replaced by the end of the Term, unless Authority Approval has been granted to deviate from this policy.

Please provide me with the following information that is of significant public interest without undue delay.

1 - Has Sheffield City Council issued Amey with permission to deviate from this 17,500 target for highway tree replacement?

2 - If so please supply details of any and all revisions to this requirement to replace 17,500 highway trees under the contract, what if any revised number has been agreed in place of the 17,500 figure, or if no number has been agreed then please supply the exact text that has been agreed to instead of the 17,500 figure.

3 - Please supply the dates of each change that has been agreed, and the name or position of the Council officer and / or Councillors who approved these changes.

4 - Please supply copies of all correspondence between Sheffield City Council and Amey regarding potential or agreed changes to this 17,500 highway trees replacement requirement in the contract.

Please find below, Sheffield City Council’s response to your request:

As the end of Term has not yet been reached, no Authority Approval has
been issued to deviate from this figure. Sheffield City Council has been
clear in all of the information issued in respect of this element of the
contract that the figure referred to is not a target – please see the
