Haringey New Logo & Rebranding - Haringey Brand Guidelines

Alan Stanton made this Freedom of Information request to Haringey Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Roedd y cais yn rhannol lwyddiannus.

Dear Haringey Borough Council,

I understand that as part of the new logo and rebranding of Haringey Council in autumn 2015 , the Council commissioned work on different aspects of the change including: new uniforms (redcoats) for staff; new brand colours; guidelines on the language and vocabulary to be used to enable communication to be clear and understandable.

1. Can you please supply me with a set of the documents - I gather there may have been twelve - which set out the detailed recommendations, photos, etc.

2. Can you please also send me copies of Council documents/reports which considered the recommendations.

3. Can you confirm if the documents' recommendations were agreed and adopted in full and, if not, please supply me with a copy of the Council's record showing which were rejected or amended, and if so, the reasons.

4. Can you please supply a copy of the agreed timeline for adoption of the remaining recommendations - for example when will Haringey staff be required to begin wearing the new redcoat uniforms?

5. Given that many staff would normally be expected to supply, maintain and replace their own work clothes, how many staff will now be expected to wear the new uniform clothing; and what are the new associated costs which l fall on the Council.

6, Please set out the actual or estimated additional costs to the Council of implementing of all the remaining agreed recommendations - in excess of the original figure given of £86,000 for the new logo/rebranding, uniforms, other.

Thanks in advance for your prompt help.

I think such information would be of great public interest, particularly to residents of Haringey like myself. It would be extremely helpful to know who advised on these so-called branding changes (as an academic linguist I am particularly interested in the point about 'language' and whether, why and how any decisions were reached about this) and what on basis decisions to spend substantial amounts of our money like this were made.
Thank you

Clay Lesley, Haringey Borough Council

Dear Haringey Borough Council,

You are now a week late in responding to my Freedom of Information Request about the Haringey New Logo & Rebranding - Haringey Brand Guidelines. I'm sure I do not need to remind you of your statutory responsibilities.

I am at a loss to imagine any conceivable circumstances in which the documents I requested could not have been sent, via this website, within a few days of my initial request. It appears to me that I clearly identified these documents and you have not raised any concerns or queries about this, suggesting any uncertainty on your part.

Can you please confirm that I can now look forward to receiving these without further delay.

Thanks for your help.

Dear Ms Lesley Clay,

Thanks for your prompt reply to my reminder, and for chasing the service responsible.

I appreciate that you and your colleagues are always in the hands of the relevant service staff to provide the information requested. I also realise that Haringey is losing staff and that those remaining have to cover additional work. As well as having pressures - e.g. sickness cover; taking annual leave before the end of the Financial Year; and family responsibilities during school half term holidays etc.

So if it's at all helpful, I am happy to accept my reply in stages with the documents easily to hand sent to this website shortly; with the time limit extended for sending further information - if this is needed.

Yours sincerely,

Alan Stanton
