Halton Waste Incinerator

James A Owen made this Freedom of Information request to Halton Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Gwrthodwyd y cais gan Halton Borough Council.

Dear Halton Borough Council,

At present the incinerator at Weston Point Halton Merseyside has processed approx. 686,000 tonnes over the period 1st Jan 2018 to 1st Sept 2019. Do you expect to burn a further 250,000 tonnes before 31st Dec 2018.
Have you permission from the Environment Agency for this increase from your last application to increase your permit.

The public information on waste from Manchester was that you had lost their contract to burn their waste. As you have burned 440,000 tonnes of their waste this year is this an indication that you will be continuing to burn Manchester waste.

Yours faithfully,

James A Owen

Isobel Mason, Halton Borough Council

In relation to the query raised the Council does not hold the information
you have requested. I would suggest that the enquiry is forwarded either
directly to the company, Viridor, or to the Environment Agency.
