Dear London School of Economics,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of London School of Economics's handling of my FOI request 'Had Yu Kuo-Hwa received his doctorate from LSE?'.

Waiting for an answer with my great patience. COVID-19 is not worse than WII in London, I think.

Dear Luo Lao,

With reference to your request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act, please find below the School's response.

Neither LSE nor, as far as we can see, Yu Kuo-Hwa ever claimed that he had
received a doctorate/PhD degree from the School. I can however confirm
that he received the following:

Mr Yu Kuo-Hwa (Deceased)
Rec Type Alum (1949 Anthropology)
Degree COMP 1949 Anthropology

School: Anthropology
Degree:  Composition Fee (that is, paid tuition)
Level: Taught Grad (usually Masters, we are checking to see if we have any
information that states it was not a Masters degree)
Start: 1947
Stop: 1949

Distinguished Alumus/a Award - LSE Awards (LSEAW)
Date: 01 /06 /1993

Dear Rachael Maguire of London School of Economics,

Your response about Mr. Yu Kuo-Hwa is so detailed, absolutely helpful. It is appreciated indeed.

The information you sent over 100% matched with the part of his in 'LSE people' ( https://www.lse.ac.uk/about-lse/lse-people ). So 'LSE people' is certainly readable, I suppose.

The person next to Mr. Yu Kuo-Hwa in your 'LSE people' is Tsai Ing-wen.

Tsai Ing-wen (b.1956)
PhD Law 1984
Vice-premier 2006-2007
President 2016-

May I believe that this piece of information is correct also? This means Tsai Ing-wen never has received a doctorate/PhD degree from the School even Tsai studied in PhD Law program.
