Dear nhssouthcheshireccg foirequests (NHS SOUTH CHESHIRE CCG),
Thanks for your reply.
What I want to know is your policy on the investigation and management of subfertility / infertility.
So, for example, if a patient presents to their GP, due to difficulty having children, are the GPs able to arrange any tests on the NHS ?
Once the basic tests are performed by the GP, if a cause for subfertility is found ( say for example low sperm count/ problems with ovulation) can the GP then refer the pt to a specialist for procedures such as IVF - on the NHS. If so how many cycles of IVF are funded by the NHS. What are the exclusion criteria - of example, are people who have been previously pregnant/ current smokers eligible for IVF ?
In summary, I request if you are able to share your policy on what diagnostic tests and treatment is funded on the NHS in this region.
Many thanks
Yours sincerely,
A John
