Guidance to broadcasting staff on working under Covid-19 restrictions

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, British Broadcasting Corporation should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
This enquiry relates to the BBC's response to government restrictions imposed as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak and what changes have been made to working practices as a result.

Please provide a copy of the policy guidance issued by BBC (and BBC Scotland if different) to its radio broadcasting staff regarding working from home during Covid-19, including all updated guidance in the event there were any policy changes.

Please state the policy of the BBC and BBC Scotland in relation to radio broadcast staff who have the ability to work from home.

What are the criteria for being able to work from home for radio broadcasting staff?
Please specify what risk assessments were done for those presenters who could not work from home.

Please supply a copy of all instructions/guidance given to staff who could work from home but chose instead to travel to work.

If a radio broadcasting staff member indicated an intention to travel to work despite having the ability to work from home, what process is in place to accommodate this? Who authorises broadcasting staff to do this?

Please list which radio broadcasting staff still do their shows from a studio and which do their shows from home.

Please list which radio presenters are able to work from home but choose instead to travel to their BBC studio to broadcast.

Please specify what aspects determine that a show can only be broadcast from a studio.

Yours faithfully,
Ernie Marples
