Dear Mr Swift,

I am writing in response to your request dated 22/02/2022.  This has been
dealt with under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.

May I first of all apologise for the delay in responding to your request.

The Council's response to your specific questions is set out below:

1. Is grounds maintenance work done by in-house teams or contracted out?

Mainly in house, however, we have had contractors carrying out initial
sports markings for the past couple of years, and contractors have been
maintaining house garden hedges and highway hedges.

2. Who is responsible for managing the in-house grounds maintenance teams
or contractors?

Maryke Woods has overall responsibility for the Grounds maintenance.
Maryke has 2 x Area managers and 4x Team leaders in her team who directly
manage front line staff. We currently don’t have a contracts manager, as
such.

3. What is the contact name, address and email of the person responsible
for managing grounds maintenance activities?

Maryke Woods, Streetscene, Flint St, Fartown, Huddersfield, HD1 6LG

[1][email address]

4. What is the annual grounds maintenance budget?

The attached PDF is the Council’s budget and is available for the public
to view @ [2]Budget and accounts | Kirklees Council Within the document
there is the budget line for Parks and Greenspaces, around page 62.

Advice and Assistance : Direct Marketing

If you are a company that intends to use the names and contact details of
council officers (or other officers) provided in this response for direct
marketing, you need to be registered with the Information Commissioner to
process personal data for this purpose.  You must also check that the
individual (whom you wish to contact for direct marketing purposes) is not
registered with one of the Preference Services to prevent Direct
Marketing.  If they are you must adhere to this preference. You must also
ensure you comply with the Privacy Electronic and Communications
Regulations (PECR).  For more information follow this Link
[3]www.ico.org.uk

For the avoidance of doubt the provision of council (and other) officer
names and contact details under FOI does not give consent to receive
direct marketing via any media and expressly does not constitute a ‘soft
opt-in’ under PECR.

If you are not content with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review.  Requests for internal reviews should
be submitted within 40 working days of the date of receipt of the response
to your original request and should be addressed to the Monitoring
Officer, you can send an email to: [4][email address].

Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future
communications.

If you are not content with the outcome of any review you have the right
under section 50 of the 2000 Act to apply to the Information Commissioner
for a decision as to whether your request for information has been dealt
with in accordance with the requirements of the Act.  The Information
Commissioner’s website is at [5]www.ico.org.uk and gives more information
about the role and duties of the Commissioner.  The ICO telephone helpline
on 0303 123 1113 or 01625 545745 is available between 9am and 5pm, Monday
to Friday.

Yours sincerely
