Grant funding for flood affected areas

We're waiting for Helen Marsh to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Eden District Council,

Please provide the following information in relation to flooded properties and the gant funding provided by central government, broken down by flooded year 2009 or 2015 and by name of the grant or fund
How many households and businesses flooded?
How many properties qualified for property resilience grants/repair and renew grants or any other government grant under any name?
How many grants have been paid out?
How many grants are still to be paid out?
How many collaborative applications have been received?
Details of the works carried out and the overall cost of each collaborative scheme?
What other measures were the funds provided used for?
Details of any other community level flood protection schemes and how they were funded?Details of any infrastructure level schemes and how they were funded?

Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 received on 18 October 2017. Dear Helen,

Freedom of Information request relating to Grant funding for flood affected area

Further to your FOI request about Grant funding for flood affected area which was logged under FOI Ref No 04842, I am now in a position to provide a partial response to your request for information under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

1. How many properties qualified for property resilience grants/repair and renew grants or any other government grant under any name? 443 applications were eligible for the Property Level Flood Resilience grants.
2. How many grants have been paid out? 373 applications were paid out
3. How many grants are still to be paid out? All applications that provided invoices and completed formal agreements by the end of September deadline have been paid
4. How many collaborative applications have been received? 2
5. Details of the works carried out and the overall cost of each collaborative scheme? A bund at Newbiggin Stainton was created to protect 3 properties by 'slowing the flow' allowing the natural sink holes to take the water away rather than being overwhelmed in flood conditions. 3 properties combined their grant at Colby Lane Appleby to build a flood wall to protect all 3 properties.
6. What other measures were the funds provided used for? The Property Level Flood Resilience grant could only be used for Property Level protection.
7. Details of any other community level flood protection schemes and how they were funded? The Property Level Flood Resilience grant could only be used for Property Level protection.
8. Details of any infrastructure level schemes and how they were funded? The Property Level Flood Resilience grant could only be used for Property Level protection. Cumbria County Council has responsibility for infrastructure level schemes and as such no information is held by the District Council in relation to this element of the request, please contact Cumbria County Council for this information via the following weblink: http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/council-democr...

We are still awaiting information in relation to the following question: " How many households and businesses flooded?" This information will follow in due course.
