GRADE II LISTED BRIDGE serving Kings Road, Llandybie and local economy.

We're waiting for M Bowen to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Carmarthenshire Council,

Pursuant to FOI I am interested in obtaining details of ALL inspections and relative contingency planning measures (if any) that are currently in force with the following:
1. Carmarthenshire County Council Highways Department
2. Carmarthenshire County Council Planning Department
3. Carmarthenshire County Council Emergency Planning Officer
in respect of the Grade II Listed Bridge that is sole key to linking not only residents but rural economy and tourism with Llandybie and its trunk and highway infrastructure?

Notwithstanding latter, Carmarthenshire County Council as an Authority will be mindful that the sole emergency access to debris, heat and flash zones of the LNG infrastructure is via this Grade II Listed Bridge abused by blindness of unregulated heavy traffic.

This information merits mature attention as the last remaining parcel of land available as alternative emergency lifeline to affected stakeholders, is currently absent of forethought as being marketed as enjoying outline permission.

Yours faithfully,

M Bowen

Dear Sir/Madam

I refer to your request for information, which was received on 26th March, 2021 and has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The specific information you requested was contained in your email below.

In response, I attach for your attention a copy of the Bridge Inspection forms for the last six cycles, these inspections having been carried out on 8th of December 2020, 14th of January 2019, 16th of November 2016, 14th of May 2014, 13th of July 2010 and the 14th of May 2007. I would also advise that a structural assessment of the bridge was carried out in 2009 and the assessment concluded that the structure has an assessed live load capacity of 40 tonnes, plus abnormal loads over and above this weight.

With respect to maintenance work, three number work orders were issued on 08.05.15, 29.07.15 and 12.01.16; all of which relate to re-setting dislodged coping stones to the upstream masonry parapet. Additionally we have also attending the structure to remove some minor debris accumulations directly following flooding events.

I trust the information provided is sufficient in answering your enquiry.”

Yours faithfully
