Dear Leeds City Council,

On behalf of DB3 Architecture we would like to congratulate you on having been selected to put forward your proposals & bid to Government as part of the £3.6bn investment into the Towns Fund.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, we would be grateful if you could provide us with some details regarding this so as to ascertain if we can be of help:-

1. The name of the person/people who has/have been nominated to develop this Towns business plan.
2. An outline of your intentions regarding utilisation of awarded grant money.
3. If there is an opportunity for you to involve the skills & experience of an architectural company to support you in this process?

Freedom of Information Request (Ref: 304445)

I refer to the above and your request dated 04 September 2020. I have
contacted the relevant services and now provide a response to your request
relating to : Freedom of Information request - Government Investment -
Towns Fund.

On behalf of DB3 Architecture we would like to congratulate you on having
been selected to put forward your proposals & bid to Government as part of
the £3.6bn investment into the Towns Fund.

 

1. The name of the person/people who has/have been nominated to develop
this Towns business plan.

Leeds City Council is the accountable body for the Morley Town Deal and
the work is managed under the Head of Regeneration, Adam Brannen.

 

2. An outline of your intentions regarding utilisation of awarded grant
money.

The Council has been awarded £162k of feasibility funds from government to
assist in the development of the Morley Town Investment Plan.  This has
been used so far to commission communications and engagement advice, and
economic/project development advice.  The Town Investment Plan itself has
not yet been drafted.

 

3. If there is an opportunity for you to involve the skills & experience
of an architectural company to support you in this process?

There are no clear proposals at this stage to enable us to answer this
question.

I trust that this response is satisfactory. If however you are
dissatisfied with this response you have a right to appeal to an
independent officer within the council. They will re-examine your request
and assess whether we have adhered to the requirements of the act. Should
you wish to follow this course of action please address your concerns in
writing to the above address.

 

You also have a right under Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act
to ask the Information Commissioner to decide whether we have met with our
obligations under the act.  The Commissioner has however made it clear
that she expects all applicants to exhaust internal appeals procedures
prior to making such an application. Should you wish to contact the
