Thank you for your request for information received on 17th February 2022.
We have considered your request and enclose the following information:

Golden handshake

Please can you tell me how many council staff have been given a ‘golden
handshake’ from 2017 until now?

Also, can you please tell me how much they each received?

For your information, what I mean by ‘golden handshake’ is any payment
given to someone who is made redundant or retires early.

The Council does not pay ‘golden handshakes’. However we have a number of
policies to support workforce planning, including Redundancy and Early
Retirement by Mutual Consent.

Between January 2017 and 17th February 2022 the following number of
employees left the Council due to Redundancy or Early Retirement:

Redundancy 41
Early Retirement 24
