Dear University of Edinburgh,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of University of Edinburgh's handling of my FOI request 'Gift Register'.

I have previously requested a Gift Register from Heriot-Watt University and received it without any problems. The precedent set by this would suggest that UoE should have no problem providing a full gift register. If records are not kept centrally, then they should be. This point can be raised with the Information Commissioner in a forthcoming complain if necessary.

I can either individually submit 27 FOI requests for all 27 members of the University Executive (which would be necessary to obtain the information and not be considered "excessive or vexatious") or I can submit a complaint with the Scottish FOI authorities and obtain the information. Alternatively, provide me with a gift register for as many members of the university executive as possible within the £600 limit, starting with the Principal's, and working down the organisational hierarchy. I will then submit individual FOI requests for the remaining people, which again would not be excessive or vexatious due to me being left with no other choice to obtain the information.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/g...

Yours faithfully,

J. Dennis
