Dear Wan,

Thank you for your request for information from the University of Dundee. Commissioning is identified explicitly as a form of academic dishonesty in the University’s Code of Practice on Plagiarism and Academic Dishonesty (https://www.dundee.ac.uk/qf/documents/de...). Students found to have commissioned work can face disciplinary action. The code has been revised and the updated version will be adopted for academic year 2018/19. Again, commissioning is identified explicitly in the revised code as academic misconduct.

The University publishes its disciplinary monitoring information online here - https://www.dundee.ac.uk/governance/dca/.... I trust that this is the information you require in this regard?

Colleagues note that all programmes set expectations around academic standards and good academic practice, that additional support on academic skills is available to all students (see for example - https://www.dundee.ac.uk/academic-skills...). The University deploys detection software to supplement the work of academic colleagues in this area.

Colleagues in HR confirm that they are not aware of any member of staff being subject to disciplinary processes for working for a commissioning service. Please treat this email as notice per S.17 of FoI(S)A that the information you request on this subject is not held.

I trust that this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

Kind regards,

Alan
