3. How to find out that ghostwriter involvement since many ghostwriter organisations offer the plagiarism checking?

4. Is there any case where your staff involved in that unfair practice, being a ghostwriter for the student?

If you need any clarification then please contact me via email. Under your section 16 duty to provide advice and assistance, I would expect you contact me if you find this request unmanageable in any way.

Dear Justine Asquith,
On 4 March, I sent a request under the Freedom of Information and I haven't got any answer until now. May I know why? Because by law, under all circumstances, the authority should have responded no longer than 20 working days.

Yours sincerely,

Wan Ulfa Nur Zuhra

I apologise on behalf of De Montfort University for the delay in
responding to your request. The delay has been as a result of staff
changes at the university.

Your request for information has been considered under the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and the information is below:

students resulting in a fine and/or expulsion in the last five academic

2.    In those academic years (2013 to 2017), How many of those are the

Replies to questions 1 and 2:

These figures show the only students who have been expelled from the
University for the academic offence of ‘purchasing work’ using an ‘essay
mill’ or actually ‘commissioning’ someone else to write the work.

Year Expelled
2012-13 1
2013-14 0
2014-15 2
2015-16 0
2016-17 0

3.    How to find out that ghostwriter involvement since many ghostwriter
organisations offer the plagiarism checking?

Reply: They have failed  the Turnitin checks.

4.    Is there any case where your staff involved in that unfair practice,
being a ghostwriter for the student?

Reply: No
